Ross
Hello all. The turbo wagon needs a new tyre for its warrant of fitness, and it currently is on 185/60/14s. Im thinking of maybe changing them all to a 70 profile, can anyone tell me how much smoother it will be off road with these? The 60 profile ones seem to jar the car around on the gravel more than i like. Any comments? Cheers.
Vegablade
since my car has no drivers side front axle its in rear wheel drive and so i have 175/80/13 on the front and 195/70/14 on that back and the rear rides really smooth. on my pontiac my dad ran 185/70/14 and that rode smooth and then got some 195/60/14 and they ride much harder. i would go for the 70's if they wont rub, they should be smoother. ballitch
the 185/70/R14 will be about an inch to an inch and a quarter bigger in diameter, you probably wont notice the extra 1/2'' or so in height, but you might notice the loss, however small, in gearing, your speedo and odo will be off a little, like you care right? anyway it will more than likely be a smoother ride, maybe go 195/70/R14 for some extra rubber on the tarmac. ~Josh~
Ross
maybe go 195/70/R14 for some extra rubber on the tarmac. ~Josh~ Yeah, am thinking about that, but i don't want to sacrifice gravel/snow performance too much.
