TheBrian
Will the tranny off a car with a 2.0 or a 2.2 bolt up to an EJ25?
calebz
Yes Bellhousing patterns are the same... Watch for clutch differences and such like that though. I'm not all brushed up on my EJ info, so someone else will have to give you more specifics.

TheBrian
You do? Oh. Then here's another question about which parts might work for Al's upcoming AT->MT swap. 5MT's off cars with 21" outer radius tires are hard to find. But there are plenty of 5MT's from cars with 19" tires. Is there a way to install a driveline off a Legacy L (19" tires) on an Outback (21" tires) and have an accurate speedometer? They all have different final drive ratios, so there is no vehicle speed sensor out there that knows the correct relationship between turns of the driveshaft and distance travelled. Imprezas have a shorter wheelbase. Yet one might be able to use the tranny & diff of an Impreza and the rear driveshaft off a Legacy. Does anyone know if the transmission & diff mounting brackets are the same on the Impreza and Legacy, '95-'98? That would widen the field of potential donor cars.
