pedroelbee
Hey all, have a 2004 outback I bought in the US and I'm moving to Europe. I was wondering if it's possible to swap out the speedometer or the entire cluster to one that was in Kilometers. Where would I get such a part? Thanks! SevenSisters
The speedometer should already have kph. Buy a $3 dollar calculator if you need to convert the odometer readings, it's a lot cheaper than a swap.
TheBrian
Ah, but a metric speedo would look nice. I'd telephone a Canadian dealership. I'd say a Canadian junkyard, but there probably aren't a lot of wrecked '04s yet. It should be easy to swap out the cluster, or just one of its gauges. In a '96 Legacy, it's a 15 minute job. Thanks! by the way,how much you gonna have to pay to have your car shipped over?? also one thing,if your car is a left hand drive and you check with a euro j/y or dealership.the guages might be for a right hand drive car. Zefy
ya it will probably be a huge deal... they make those dashes hard to get at now... so you can't roll back the odo... although its a digi odo... so i dunno how you would do it... but ya... you can probably get a dash when you get there... and hey... it says KM in little #'s doesn't it??? and speaking of the odo... i recall from the dealership that you can change the odo somehow to miles and KM by pushing a button or plugging something in... my memory was pretty vague though... might have been a dream... i go to the dealership a lot in my sleep... pedroelbee
Haha, thanks for the responses. No, I'm moving to Spain, we drive on the right. I'd like the odometer to read in KM....if this is possible with just a software plugin that would be awesome. I'm getting it shipped free thanks to my employer Subarus in Spain are about 2X the price, hence my buying one here. Problem is the gas prices suck and I got the H6...
