Final by CLASS

Raw Overall Times

Only 17th fastest today and 3rd in class....Shane, Warp3 on here....outran me and the red civic I had been outrunning by quite a margin beat us both.

I drove like a$$ today, COMPLETELY.

The course was CRAP and eveyone said so. Warp3 has been autox'in on courses like that since he started, and with instant power from his NA EJ25, he had the advantage. For example...to even get a competitve time in STX, 90% of the guys out today left it in FIRST GEAR....the whole way around. With the RX's ultra low gearing, 2nd lo was good to ho...got out of the power (below 2200 rpms) in alot of places. Warp3's RS and Pleiades' RS had no problems tho. Pleiades (Steven Rankins) set FTD...AGAIN.

Otherwise...the new large radiator got installed, no overheating issues anymore. Using Motul Inugel coolant additive, and got an elec fan on the rad...got the mech one on there for now until I run proper wiring for it.

I figured out how to NOT let the IC heat soak....I'll try that new method out in Atlanta this next weekend at the National Tour.

Tom Hoppe (http://www.tomhoppe.com)was there, 2004 STX National Champion with his WRX...he was there driving his old WRX, the one he won nationals in. We made some changes to it...and its 100% better than when he won nationals with it (I drove it 2 weeks before Nationals)...drove it today, new springs new adjustments for toe and sway bars...along with some testing of some new tires, and its really hooked up now.

Anyhow, I let Tom take the car out for a Time-Only run....he was REALLY impressed with the RX. He said the car really turns in VERY WELL, and the power delivery really suprised him. The onyl suggestions he made for changes to the car...bushings...otherwise the car is GREAT the way it sits.

Also, Jon Jon Krolewicz (http://www.racerjon.com/), he's racing LMP cars, Daytona 24hrs in real GT cars, has his own track driving instructing school/track days (http://www.seat-time.com), been Karting for...well, a LONG time, another VERY VERY good autocrosser, drove the car and well and was extreamly impressed with the way the RX handled....again, he was very suprised with the power delivery.

So...next mod are the SUperPro bushings all around...steering rack, control arm/leading rod, everything in the rear.

Next autox: April 9th-10th, Atlanta....SCCA Solo2 National Tour.

Oh and more rambling about my driving....I was not looking ahead like i was supposed to, and the overal tightness and absolute UN-smooth-flowing nature of the course really had my sense of the proper line all messed up. I hit it 75% correct on my 4th run, and then totally fu-bar3d the 5th run.

I need to LOOK AHEAD better and properly....and 5 more course walks would have done some good (Jon K and I walked it like....5~6 times tho...)...and I might could have seen a better line.

The course flowed terribly, so there was no real line to make...just point and shoot and try to make it fast...oh well....National Level events wont be like that tho...but this does get you the experience for when one of the National level course designers has a brain fart. :-p

I'm thinking about auto-x in my RX, sounds like a blast, the Rally crosses are just not often enough.

What rack are you going to use?

I just got the Super pro bushings, everything looks right except the lower sway mount.
