wildish
New to the Board and need some advise. One of the kids has a 90 legacy with 140K miles and the mechanic says #3 injector went out. I had the #1 Injector replaced about two months ago which solved the problem at that time. The thing is he wants an arm and a leg for the injector. I am mechanically inclined. So how hard is it to change out the injectors? Can someone with a normal layout of tools complete it. Is there any online directions? thanks
SevenSisters
Check the code displayed to verify (see Legacy777 website). I had a # 3 go out, ran real rough. As I recall, only needed a Phillips screw driver. Oil the new one's o-ring and push in with a 2x4 or something. Cost about $100. Someone jump in here if I'm forgeting something. If it is bad, change the oil too.
reddevil
Used injectors are about $5 at a U-pull yard. And they tend to be easy to find because they certainly are not an "upgrade" to other cars.
Chef
Not too tough to replace if I recall. But you'll need to get a new o-ring for it (should be cheap). Used injectors are about $5 at a U-pull yard. And they tend to be easy to find because they certainly are not an "upgrade" to other cars.
