Katman626
Hello, I had posted this in Older Generation of Subarus forum. Flowmastered87GL said to try looking in this one. So here is my original post. By the way, I'm a newbie, does it show? "my wife's 93 Subaru Impreza /w automatic trans. will not start. Full fuel tank, gear shift is in park, good battery. I get lights the whole nine yards. It's just when I turn the key, to start it I get nothing. I have noticed the power light comes on. Could that have something to do with it? If so what?. I am thinking a problem with the starter. I am at my wit's end." Any help would be appreciated
Tiny Clark
1. Check and clean battery terminals. 2. Have you tried jumpstarting? 3. Do you get a loud click from the starter when you turn the key? If so, then the solenoid contacts inside the starter are bad, as they get arced up after many starts. If not, make sure the 12 volts from the key switch is getting to the small terminal on the starter.

Katman626
Okay, I get no "click" whatsoever. Also where would the starter be and what would it look like? :-\
danz75
Could it be that the connections(check the ground cable from the starter to the battery) are loose or rusted? Okay, I get no "click" whatsoever. Also where would the starter be and what would it look like? :-\

blackbart
Thanks for the help. I owe ya one. Big time. Did you get the car started yet? When you turn the key do you hear ANYTHING? If you hear nothing at all, not even a click, push you shift lever with a firm bump forward into the park position and then see what happens. Now here's a new wrinkle, the Check Engine light is flashing steadily. About once every second. I'm not sure, but can anyone tell me if I have to reset something and, if I do where is the reset located? . By the way, I would just like to thank everyone that helped me. Chef
Just undo the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes or so. That should clear it I believe. Yes I did. It was the starter solenoid. beezer
I think if it is constantly flashing every second you have to disconnect the black connectors underneath the dash that are used to retrieve the codes. It simply means "all clear". Check out Legacy777 website if you don't already know about retrieval of codes etc.
Katman626
Hey, it's me again. I am using a remote starter switch to start the car from outside, because I have no one to help me. Where do I connect it? I mean what terminals?
