PetterFan
I was wondering if the strutts from an Outback will fit on an SVX, and if not, what should I do to raise my SVX? Thanks
wrxsubaru
Iam pretty sure that there is a size diffrence between the hubs of the two cars that won't allow them to be inerchangable. If you really wanted to lift it, you could fab up some spacers, or you could buy the ground control springs, with the adjustable collor. I think you would have the ability to lift it about 2 inches over and under stock. But the spring rates are so high you would need to also swap in some Koni inserts. I would post this over at http://www.subaru-svx.net allot more svx people over there. Just wondering why would you want to lift it?
PetterFan
Well, I'm not sure if I want to lift it or lower it. I love to offroad, but the SVX is more of a "sports car". I have never seen a lifted SVX, and am not sure about what I want to do. I am torn between my love for SVX's and offroading.
outback_97
I'm sure it can be lifted somehow... but just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Get an older subie and lift away, there's lots of good info in the offroad forum. Please don't do that to an SVX... it just seems so wrong. My $.02. lostinthebush
i agree with steve that seems like sacrilege to do that to a svx, you can find older subies to lift and modify...
Legacy777
pretty sure the struts aren't going to fit, and as yes it's a sacrilege to do such things to the SVX. If you want an offroad car....get something else. The SVX is a high speed cruiser.
PetterFan
Well, after shopping around, I have found that it is much easier and cheaper to lower an SVX. I think that lowering the SVX would be a much better decision because it is really a sport touring car. I am gonna have to stay on the road for now. Forester_Ranger
yeah I wouldn't lift an SVX either. I just bought a SVX a couple months ago so I could have a nice street car. I love off-roading as well. But I use my Forester for off-road use.
Chef
I gotta admit though, there would be something cool about a lifted SVX. But in the end lowering it might be a better idea.
