pyromanic
I know that lots of folks like junk yard trans. I have two highmileage 5spDR, and would like to have one rebuilt, or trade it in for a re-man. Can a good Trans shop do this? Or are Re-mans availiable anywhere? CCR, do they have them? Anyone? I can not rebuild it myself. Are parts even availiable? I know it would be expensive, I don't care. I want a new Trans. Pyro

Cougar
Just call a local shop you trust and ask them what they can do for you. I'm sure they can fix you up with no problem. There is nothing special here. It may cost you more than the whole car is worth to get a remanufactured unit.

There is nothing special here. It may cost you more than the whole car is worth to get a remanufactured unit. CCR engines frequently cost more than the "whole car is worth". And many of us put countless hours of labor for repairs and mods. Seems like "worth" is a very subjective concept. I guess my main question is are parts going to be availiable to a shop? Like the synchros and seals that I know will be needed. Thanks for the reply, appreciated. Pyro
ShawnW
Its usually cheaper than an engine rebuild for a trans job, give em a call it can't hurt.

WJM
More than 3k for a new (RX box, FT4WD D/R is about $4,500 NEW). About $1000~$1500 for a rebuild.
