Phizinza
Curtesy lamp, some manuals use weird names.. lets call it a inside light. Any way, I noticed the door buttons were missing the other day. So I pulled out the wires thru the hole. Theres one black and one red. I connected them together but still no power at the light (I used a multimeter, not just the light globe) I've pulled out the inside light and cleaned it up, all the connections seem find up there. Is there something i'm doing wrong with the wires down by the door? Or what, all fuses are fine. I really want to put a CB up there but if theres no power... I'd have to do a lot more then what I planed. Should the door switch wires just connect to them selves? or should one connect to earth? Cougar
I think you should have seen power between the light connector and ground. I'm pretty sure the door switches make a ground connection to turn on the light though I may be wrong. If so then the power would be coming from the switch side of the circuit. Assuming my first thought is correct and you have no power at the light to ground then you will need to trace the lead to the light back towards the fuse panel. You should also be able to check the door leads to one of the light wires to see which one ties to the door switches using the ohmmeter.
