SuBrat84
Which front half axles (cv's) from which soobs are compatible with which soobs? (Specifically 80's models...)
Sweet82
I believe it's a motor match thing rather than a body or year match thing. As I understand it, an EA81 axle matches to EA81's, years don't matter. EA82 to EA82's. I believe Turbos are an exception to this and have more splines on the axles. Anyone else? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--can use axles up to 1984. 01 Forester

I had an axle go on my T wagon and was worried that I wouldn't be able to find an axle to fit before I had to leave for school. Thankfully I was able to steal one off of my lifted 81 hatch! Thank you subaru for making almost everthing interchangeable!!!
scrapdaddytatum
well in reality just about all ea81, ea82, ej series axles are almost the same i have put ea82 into ea81 and vice versa and fitted ej impreza axles to ea81 as well, turbo axles and non turbo axles are different but ej axles are like turbo ea82, i have a driveshaft from a imprez in my rx wagon, i did it becouse i needed to, it isnt any better, now ej c/v's are better than ea's but not by much
