Cougar
It sounds like the relay is sticking. I don't know which one it is but you could try pulling them out one at time to find out which one will kill the fan. Doing this test while the engine and fan is running should keep the relay from dropping out while you check this.
marinj
It sounds like the relay is sticking. I don't know which one it is but you could try pulling them out one at time to find out which one will kill the fan. Doing this test while the engine and fan is running should keep the relay from dropping out while you check this. i've done that now but only got to the third one which stop the fan. sound good but before when ever i touched the fuse box lightly the fan stopped so now i need to wait till it's running again to check and be sure i have the right one. i guess the fan doesn't start till the engine is warm enough and needs cooling. thanks for the help. frag
On my car (96 Legacy) the different relays are identified on the cover of the fuse box. Not so for your car?
Cougar
Your welcome for the help. A sticking relay will be like you describe. Just a slight movement can clear the connection.
