Dante
I've got a 3.9 LSD on my '83 GL wagon. I'm thinking of replacing the '83 wagon with the nicest EA82 GL wagon I can find. I'd like to keep the LSD and based on a quick search, it looks like it can be made to work. Is that correct? If so, any tricks to making the swap? subyrally
it will work as long as the tranny in the car its going into is also a 3.9. you just have to make sure the gearing matches on the final drive, otherwise, youll end up with drive line wind up, or binding. mcbrat
should be a direct drop in...... as long as it matches the tranny
SuBrat84
Hope you dont mind if I jump in on this thread.. was wondering what LSD I would need to get LSD on an 84 brat?? And what cars I could try and get it off? Thanks!
subynut
Find a late 80's GL-10 turbo. That has the LSD in it. Just look under the rear end of the car and look for the LSD label. You just would hafto swap the LSD unit out of the 3.7 diff into the 3,9 open diff that's in your Brat. Here's a link to the USRM with a good writeup on how to do it: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=
