Hocrest
I drove to Jersey today to check out an XT-6 for sale. Overall it looked OK, around 170,000. Engine was "rebuilt" sometime between 80 and 130K. When I first turned on the headlights, a red warning light came on the dash. It was two words, "Stop ??" (damn short term memory). When I turned the headlights off, the red light went off. Later tried it and the headlights worked but the red light didn't come on. How difficult is an auto to 5spd swap? Anybody familiar with Pennsylvania Registration laws? Email me if you are. Thanks
PHATBRAT
What do you want to know about PA laws? The way he has the title will be fine. Bring it to the notary and as long as you tell them you paid 800 or less the other guy doesn't have to be there. That title still has the original owner's name. Car has to be registered to be insured. When transferring the title you must register it. If you don't want to do that just yet just bring it home do your work then do the title transfer. I hope this answered your question. Looks pretty nice huh? Well for 800 bucks it's damn nice! Boz
TROGDOR!
The light that came on probably said "Stop Lamp". It means a taillight bulb is burnt out. Did you happen to put your foot on the brake at the same time you punched the headlight button? Maybe the excess electrical demand make a taillight stop working for a second. The only red light that should come on is one on the dash that only lights up while the headlights are raising or lowering. If one of them gets stuck this light will stay on letting you know there's a problem.
Hocrest
Boz, Thanks again for the lead, and now the Reg info. To get it home, how much trouble would I get in if i borrowed a "plate" to drive it home with. I will be getting it registered, but the place I use won't be open till monday. Steve, Yes, it was "Stoplamp" I don't remember if I had my foot on the brake or not. But I did take it for about 25 minutes worth of test driving and it didn't come on while I was driving. btw Steve are you going to the shootout? PHATBRAT
Borrowing a plate.....That's all I ever do...ha ha ha . As long as you don't do anything stupid and you know the car will make it to where you are going them I say I am all for it. I do it all the time, Hell I have driven through many states with false plates just to get a car home. Then, whenever I feel like it, I swap the title. As for the trouble you will getin if caught, ALOT!!! Boz
