myfinalcoffinx
I'm having trouble finding the place to adjust the shifter for my 1982 4wd GL- EA81. The shifter sits about an 1.5 inches above where it should-- like it should sit level with the plastic between the seats, but it is at a slight angle upwards. Whenever I brake it comes up even more and it turns the 4wd light on on the dash. I've had a look at the shifter directly and can't find anything wrong inside the vehicle, but I am curious if there is an adjustment that can be made outside the car underneath or inside the engine bay and where it would be located. Thanks, Kevin
critical_max
Somebody just referred me to the "pitch stopper" in my recent thread on a similar questions. I believe the tranny mounting bolts are also easy to get to, look at the sides of the tranny... how are your engine mounts doing? can you push the engine around in the bay? myfinalcoffinx
I haven't checked my mounts, but will tomorrow. I've been keeping a close eye on that thread. I noticed today that my shifter jumps when I let off of the gas... I'll have a look around down there, but if anyone with an EA81 could take a few pictures of what everything is supposed to look like, I would really appreciate it. critical_max
On that same thread there is a picture from an EA81 brat - tons of room to see the pitch stopper (I'm jealous, my EA82T engine bay is sorta cramped).
