Numbchux
Well, I just bought another GL wagon....but it broke the driver side timing belt on the way home ( http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36824 ), here's the question, my passenger side belt is clean and dry: but the driver side is covered with oil and coolant.... What now??? so obviously I need to replace the one belt, and since I have it off, I might as well replace the other, but should I replace my water pump? just seals? oil pump? just seals? there isn't a whole lot of oil on the outside of the motor (some, but not too much), and ZERO coolant, but it's all over the place inside the T-belt cover, so my pumps must be leaking. Steveman09
Water Pump and Seal Oil Pump Seal Cam Seals Valve Cover Gaskets Check your tensioners and timing idliers for a seized up pulley to make sure thats not the cause of the belt failure. I would lean towards the excessive oil and coolant in the covers that caused the belt to fatigue.
NoahDL88
replace whatever is causing the leak, or you'll be doing it again soon. and make sure to replace the idler pully, not so much fun changing those in montana, half way between michigan and seattle
