Do It Sidewayz
Need new pistons for a built N/A short block we have. However it's going to be built as a Turbo motor...so we need Turbo Pistons. Either way they need to be .020" over Now..just use Stock Subaru pieces?? or is it possible to get Wiseco's??
WJM
you can get the 20 over OE SUBARU ones. i think any piston mfg can make 20 over pistons for us....seeing as how all the EJ20's use the same bore.
NoahDL88
But is the wrist pin diameter and height the same?
idosubaru
www.ramperformance.com i recommended an XT6 owner go with pistons from these guys and he is very happy with his rebuild. has been driving it for about a month. he got forged NA pistons - not turbo. here's a link to pictures of the pistons and his rebuild/use of them as well as some specs. http://www.xt6.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3575&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=ram+pistons&start=

Do It Sidewayz
i ordered the Pistons this morning. I had a choice between OE Subaru pistons....which were around $100 each, with no rings, just bare pistons. Or Aftermarket Turbo Pistons...which were around $50 each with rings. you can guess what i went with. I looked into Wisecos. For our boost levels the forged jobbies aren't needed. Myxalplyx
Nice! "Here are the pistons. I also had them throw in new upper connecting rod bearings. They cost abour $20. The rings were included in the order as well as new pins and clips. Piston's were machined to spec by RAM. These are forged EA82 pistons with clearance scollops machined in. The pin hole is .5mm lower then on a stock ER27 piston. See my comments on compression ratio of this engine. Here are the pistons. I also had them throw in new upper connecting rod bearings. What an IDIOT I am. *Shame*
