eightytwosubaru Posted June 9, 2005 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Hello everyone. New Subaru owner here. I'm lovin' it. Got an '82 GL for $400 and it only has 73,000 original miles. I think it needs a valve adjustment though. Can anyone tell me for certain when and in what motors they started using the hydraulic lifters? archemitis Posted June 9, 2005 Share Posted June 9, 2005 with such low miles the engine should be clean, right? the hydrolic engines had a chrome sticker on both valve covers "do not adjust valve lash" or something like that.. afaik, thats the sure fire way to tell. i bet its solid lifters unless its an auto...
