Anyone else like to add to this post? I was trying to find out what the curb weight of a 1985 GL-10 Sedan is. I'm assuming it's the 2405lbs for the manual trannied 4wd version. What does d/r stand for? If this weight is correct or close, man, those older scoobies are LIGHT..

From Joe Spitz's site below:

Subaru 360 = 1, 756lbs

1975/76 model:

2 Door Sedan = 1985lbs,

DL 2 Door = 1985lbs, Auto = 2040,

DL 4 Door Sedan = 2030lbs, Auto = 2085lbs,

DL Wagon 4spd = 2145lbs, Auto = 2200lbs,

1975 GL Coupe and 1976 DL Sprt Coup = 2005lbs

GF Hardtop Coupe = 2060lbs, Auto = 2105lbs

4wd Wagon 4spd = 2190

1988-1991 XT6

Full Time AWD = 2885lbs

Front wheel drive XT6 = 2815lbs

Front wheel drive GL (XT4) = 2580lbs

The D/R is short hand for Dual Range 4WD tranny

you can be in FWD,4WD hi, or 4WD Low 3.9 ratios and the weight is it in an RX is unknown to me but I'll wagger its the same weight as the "normal D/R like I have in the Silver D/R'agon.

Went to find the service manual for weights and .....

low and behold - I forgot that the Scan-master has those books of mine :>) He is scanning the entire series of FSM's and a few other books I sent him too. Heartless tryed to do some but then her work kinda took precidence... which is completely understandible.... meanwhile I believe he's still plugging away at the scanning job... (tangent) too bad we don't have a few more folks who have scanners and would mind helping out...

I'm not sure but i think Skip also suppled some manuals for someone else todo some canning work on too.... but those of us in the sub committee havent seen any emails in a good month or so... not that I'm worried just realized it as of this posting....

After offroading this SAT Archemitis and I swung by a truck scale. I weighed out at 2780 lbs with half tank of gas, 3" lift kit (heavy!) 29" tires, 15" steel rims, full tool box, box of larger tools (BFH, harcksaw, etc) and nobody inside the car.

This weight was not including any recovery gear also. Sitting kinda heavy :( No wonder it's such a dog on the road! haha I'll have to weight it once I get some recovery gear in it and maybe with someone sitting in it to get a real total running weight.

As a side note my 2004 KIA Rio sedan weights 1600 lbs.... time to boost that thing up! :D

It could - VW Scirocco's wieght about 1700, and they aren't much smaller than a Rio. Add some lightweight composite fenders and such, and the Rio could easily wiegh that much. They are pretty stripped down cars after all - costing less than $10,000. However - a google search yeilded 2447lbs curb weight ('04 model), so something in there must be pretty heavy.... safety equipment probably, and all that silly interior.
