Guest crimefyter
All carbs I have ever worked on were clockwise to lean the mixture. Bill

Guest Skip
Sorry, Subarugsr If you mean it's running rich at idle then you will correct the problem by turning the screw clockwise (it controls the amount of gas delivered to the idle circuit orifice in the lower portion of the carb throat), but the screw in question only has an effect at idle. As soon as the loud pedal is depressed and the throttle plate opens the transfer jets, that screw has no control over the mixture.
Qman
Is your mileage straight off the odo or is it adjusted for the bigger tires?
GeneralDisorder
Yeah - what Ken said - I get about 210 miles to a tank ON the odometer. My tires are 215/75r15 - up from 175/70r13's (car was 2WD...). Which yeilds a 26.7% slower speedo. So 210x.267=56.07. So my actual mileage is something like 265 to 270 miles to a tank..... not horrible considering the big tires. Works out to something like 23 to 25 MPG or so....
