Ultimate Subaru Message Board

Greetings!

Recommended Posts

:) Want to say Hi to everyone. While I've spent some time on NASIOC & Edmund's Suby boards, I just recently found this board in the Subiesport mag.

I'm also relatively new to the Subaru family of vehicles, having been a Honda driver for more years than I care to count. It took a move to the NW to show me the error of my ways.

Now I'm trying to play "catchup", and learn how to drive with all four wheels intsead of just the front 2. Being one of those "senior" folks, I don't catch on as quickly as I once did, so I'm looking forward to learning everything I can from all of you who've been at it for a while; and judging by all the enthusiasm I see expressed here, it ought to be some kinda fun!

I do plan to attend the Big Subaru show at Shelton, as a spectator; and I'm looking forward to meeting many of you there.

Welcome fellow Subaru owner and curmudgeon! I thought I was the only one here, the others wont admit it

Hope to see you at the Show :drunk:

Wow Rob, you got lucky. We were just getting ready to impose an age limit on the board.. But now there's too many of you guys;)

Curmudgeon, welcome to the board. Lots of good info and people here.

What kind of Subie do you drive? ...and do you have any modifications planned?

Welcome the the board.

Thanks Glenn. As I said, I've been trying to play Catchup, so I actually have 6 Subies, counting the '01 2.5 RS cpe that is a parts car. (It was also a scam I fell into, but that's another story.)

Additionally, I have a 2000 2.5 RS sedan, a 2000 OBS, a 2003 WRX wagon, a 2005 WRX wagon, and my wife's primary driver is a 2005 Legacy GT wagon. All are manual trannys except the two '05s.

All are stock, except for RS alloys on the OBS. My first planned mod is to put 17" BBS wheels and better rubber on the '03 WRX. I may do the same to the RS sedan. As for other mods, I recently sold a 2000 2.5 RS coupe, and as part of the deal I took a bunch of mods in trade, too many to list all; but they include an STi hood scoop, eye lids, exhaust system, F & R strut tower braces, and the center gauge module with gauges, among several others. All the parts fit the '03 WRX wagon.

So you can see, I've got my work cut out for me. The first decision I have to make is deciding upon which car to spend my depleted $$.

Additionally, I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the '06 WRX as it ought to be awesome with the 2.5 turboed engine. Anyway, the whole process has been fun, and I'm looking forward to the benefit of all the experience represented on these boards to guide me through the selection and modification process, not to mention which driving school might be best suited for my purposes?
