dunkinman Posted June 17, 2005 Share Posted June 17, 2005 i gave my car a tune up new spark plugs wires, cap, rotor. when i finished installing all the parts the car wouldnt start . so then i took the cap back off and i noticed inside the cap was alot of metal chips it looked like the rotor was rubing along the inside of the cap and cut through 2 of the metal studs almost all the way through. so i change the cap with the old one but it still wont start. could the timing be a factor its getting gas, has good spark, it cranks over but it wont start. please help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cougar Posted June 17, 2005 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I think there are two rotor sizes available depending on which make of distributor you have. The timing belt may have slipped on the cog wheel because of the wrong rotor. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
