Caravan to the Brooklyn Rally Cross. EDIT-Please check in

Recommended Posts

~EDIT~Please check in and let me know who wants to meet and if you are racing morning or afternoon. My race is in the afternoon and it seems most of the guys that are meeting me are racing in the afternoon. If nobody needs to be there for the morning session, I may set a later meeting time. If anybody wants/needs to meet still in the morning I may make a trip up there in the morning too.~EDIT~

For those of you that haven't been to Brooklyn or would just like to make a soobie caravan [other non-soobs welcome too:-)], We can meet at the gas station at I-5 exit 88 near Rochester at 06:30, I will be leaving the gas station at 7:00 am, this will allow Northbound and Southbound travelers to meet. It's a nice drive out there, including 7 miles of nice gravel.

Paul, I lived 35 years in north Jersey and I still take a double take on the Brooklyn RallyX in Washington. Old instincts die hard.

Hey,cool!! I'll meet you guys. How about under the Brooklyn Bridge?

Have fun!

No way do I want to chew your dust cloud.

Let's use class finish or overall time from the last rally X to determine who goes first!

Qman 6:10 2nd

Xsnrg 6:49 1st

84 Brat 7:32 1st

JQ 8:00 2nd

Rallyroo 8:19 8th

Edrach 9:08 3rd

Sorry Matt, looks like you may be eating dust either way. :banghead: J/K ;)

I don't know if I am going to get there at the crack of dawn or not. I am running in the afternoon so I may get a little more sleep. It sort of depends on the family also. They will be coming with me since we are going to Hillsboro directly following the rallyX.

Haha thats cold. I still dunno which car I'm bringing... I wanna bring the impreza but its hard to justify rallying a car that isn't a rally car when I already have a rally car? But would I do better in the impreza or the legacy aah I should bring both!

I haven't seen the Brooklyn course, but you likely need to be more concerned about what tires are on your car as opposed to which rims. Pugs should be okay.

quick question....

can i use my pugs or should i swap wheels?

Unless they've changed the rules (or I mis-understand them for your class), wheels are "free" but rally tires might bump you into Open. Which car are you planning to run?

What other mods have you done? Pugs will put you in the open class.

I guess it depends on which rulebook they are using. The new book says wheels and tires are free, period. ORG is still running by last years rule book which allows any wheel but tires must be stock size and no aggressive tread in P or PGT.

Qman, EdRach, Supperralydoo, Subeguy, if we are the only caravanners and I think we are all racing afternoon, we can meet later in the morning, maybe around 10 or 11? and we can just meet at my place, I know a short cut:-) It takes a little less than an hour to get there.

Makes sense, but Truck/SUV is still running in the morning. I can find my way so no need for you to get up early.

If you have rub issues I wouldn't recommend running them in RallyX. You will rip up the tires or your fenderwells. Street tires will allow you to run in PGT. Pretty much any other tire will put you in open class. If you are not sure where you want to run you can run for time only and run what ever you want.

You should be able to pay at the registration. I haven't gotten any notification of the event being full.

Subeguy-if you have some decent stock size street tires, you may want to run them. I mailed janice and they are running the '04 rule book so no aggressive tread in P or PGT.

Ed, you may be on your own but it isn't hard to find. Call me if you need help. You will travel west off I-5 to Oakville, turn left at the bank (on right) as you come into town, this road takes out the south side of town and you will follow it around to the right and through the reservation, when you come to a bridge after going over it take a left onto Garard Creek Rd? Anyway just turn left after the weird bridge, wind around for a few miles and watch for a sign that reads Brooklyn 10, follow that road to the rally sight, you will travel on about 7 miles of gravel.
