Blue84Hatch
When I put my engine in today, after doing a 4 inch lift, the pitch stop engine support was too short. This must be a fairly common problem with a body lift. What has been done to remedy this????
ballitch
youre right this is common, alot of people just cut it in half and find some scrap steel pipe thta has an inside diameter the same or close to that of the outside diameter of the pitch stop. ~Josh~
ballitch
oh...and they weld it back together....sorry, forgot to say that part. ~Josh~

Blue84Hatch
I did nothing with my pitch stop. -Brian So did you just leave it off then??? Also won't it being at an angle affect its original purpose???
TheSubaruJunkie
I was reffering to the wrong part. Are you speaking about the bar mounted to the engine to the firewall? My lift came with a bracket that raised the mouting surface on the engine side 3" so the pitch stop could still function correctly. -Brian
Flowmastered87GL
My lift also came with an extender bar. Basically its a big slab of steel that bolts in where the pitch stopper used to bolt to the bell housing. It moves that hole up 3-4 inches so the pitch stopper can maintain its stock geometry. All PK kits have this bracket. Unsure about other makes.

I just cut the ends off of the stock one, and welded up a longer one out of heavier bar stock. So what kind of problems can arise from the new weird geometry? stinky
I cut and welded a new piece onto mine for the 4" lift and have been running it for nearly 12 months with no noticeable issues in the change of geometry.
