eddygordouk
so i was thinkin it might be neat to see if the rx could sport a diff spoiler that would help downforce on the back being as it is a hatch and there isnt really any offered once u take the oem one off.im not lookinf foro the ricer look or anythin cuz i hate that and so jus was lookin around now and then and got an idea. I wonder how a spoiler from a pontiac fiero GT would look like? its decently small but would offer nice downforce and is quite nice lookin i think. wonder if it would fit? not look lame? i must see . shouldnt be too hard to find somewhere at a pick n pull for real cheap. might try and see what it turns out like. might be a tad too big im guessin though. pic 1 pic

Same question for the fiero spoiler. What mathematical formula are you using to determine downforce.
MilesFox
funny thing, i was going to say a pontiac firebird wing, as it fits perfectly on the back of a sedan, i wonder if its the same part between firebird and fiero? as far as an rx, a 3door for that matter as long as it clears the wiper arm you cold get away with it. so long as there is enough of the gate after the rear window to mount it
chef_tim
How much downforce, at what speed, does the stock spoiler add? Same question for the fiero spoiler. What mathematical formula are you using to determine downforce. That's just what I was thinking. Unless your planning on driving at 120+ mph for extended periods the stock wing will be just fine, and it will look "correct" for the car. eddygordouk
haha mathematical formulaaaas yess. i need a basic setup to really start on that, does anyone know the downforce that the stock oem wing provides? Also i saw a second gen supra driving down the street and was like hmmm that wing looks kinda nice also so who knows. i have my wing off right now and iiiim thinkin i might not put it back on. its a bit bondo'd up but i wonder if anyone wants it haha
TheSubaruJunkie
Stock spoiler's maximum downforce is around 0lbs of actual downforce. Our cars dont reach speeds where a spoiler will supply much downforce. The wieght of the spoiler itself is probably putting more downforce on our rear wheels than the wind that passes over it. As far as looks, I saw that fiero spoiler would look nice on a RX. If it were painted to match and installed properly. I think our coupes look 10,000x better with a spoiler. -Brian
