Could use some example/help with cable, hose, etc. routing EA82T wagon

Recommended Posts

Looking for the right routing of such things as the clutch cable, hill holder cable, accelerator cable....

Also,the A/C and alternator bracketry/config.

I've been away from this engine for a year, pretty much.My late 80's FSM's are unavailable at this time.

Any pics would be great.

My car is a 1987 Turbo 4WD 5spd wagon with the pushbutton on-demand 4WD.

Let me know what you need and I will get the pics of my 87 t-wagon. Is your AC "factory" (alternator outboard of compressor) or "dealer" (alt inboard of compressor)?

I will go snap some pics of cable routing.

Well, uhh,I'm actually trying to remember by fitting up pieces.I haven't taken a real shot at the alt./A/C set up yet. It's the small boxy type A/C unit.

Any pics of the engine compartment will likely help. Thanks,Pat,and I swear I'll get that socket set out soon.Sorry about that.:)

I am trying to upload some pics now, although they do not show much. The t-wagon's engine compartment is pretty crowded, especially after working on an XT for a few days.

No worries about the socket set. I thought that it was still buried; just waiting for you to say it was in hand and how much it would cost to ship it back. It is safe and recoverable, which is all that matters. before you found it, I had thought it was scattered across a sub-division in Orem. :banghead:

This will help too!

Still difficult for me to use since I don't have a cartridge to print the picture nice and pretty like I'd need it to take downstairs to work on the car with.

Clutch cable, accelerator cable, and hill holder routing are most important.

Popularity fading fast.....

Geez, with all the EA82T owners out there you think someone would offer to take a picture or two......any help would really be appreciated.I'm in a big pinch to get this car finished.

Need clutch cable routine, hill holder cable routing,etc....

I too need a picture request!! Does anyone ahve a picture of all the vacum hoses on the left/Passenger wide of the engine bay with the airbox off?

I need to see where everything goes as far as cruise control, the oem boost controller looking thing, and other stuff. Just basically all the hoses that come out of the pass side of the engine, and attach to something on the pass side of the car (above the wheelwell). A close shot would be awsome, like the frame being from the fender on the left side and the middle of the engine/throttlebody on the right side as where the picture ends on the right side. Picky...arent I? :D

moosens: Tomorrow i will see if i can run out and take a picture of what your looking for. Its too dark right now too, but ill def try tomorrow. Im *pretty* certain about all that stuff, maybe we can just compare notes, because im trying to finish an install as well.

My digi-cam is working fine. If I can just get them to upload... (think it is just time-of-day/badwidth issues).

Paul, what kind of pic do you want compared to the pic you posted? Do you want compressor bracket to engine, compressor to bracket, or both? I have some already snapped, but nothing very revealing yet. (Yours looks just as good.)

I have a pic of clutch/hillholder attachment in my gallery (you an even see a missing clip on the HH).

Hillholder cable routes through the driver's side of the intake manifold. Clutch cable just sort of follows least bendy path from firewall to back of diff-section, then curves forward.

mmmmmmmm somewhat they help.Thanks

Yes Pat,I'm looking for stuff like the bracket mounting as well.I haven't felt this lost on a Subaru project in years.

I guess I need to just git my butt down to the car and start hammering it out too.I always tend to work better if I have a good visual.Hopefully I can score that nice 'n cheap Turbo wagon in PA this weekend and all my troubles with my current T-wagon will be solved.
