Brumby to WRX

Recommended Posts

Hay all is the WRX rear diff LSD? What is the Ratio? Also would it, with some minor mods, bolt in the rear of my brumby? It is currently RWD converted, if i intend to keep it this way it wouldnt realy matter what the WRX ratio is, Correct?

Anyways thanks for all your help

Ian

If you are gonna go just RWD, i dont see the problem, other than your speedo will be out.

Correct me if i am wrong, but i think i saw somewhere that they are 4.11 as opposed to either 3.7 or 3.9 on ur brumby (depending on the yr model)

I'm pretty sure that in the US at least, WRXs have a 3.900 rear end.

USDM manual transmission equipped WRX use 3.545:1 rear diffs (w/3.90:1 front diff) just like my SVX.

I cannot say what ratio USDM automatic transmission equipped WRX use.

Well, depending upon the year and level of the WRX it can have either a 3.90, a 4.11 or a 4.44. All of these can be LSDs, but that doesn't mean that they are. When putting one of these rear diffs in an earlier car, you need to get ahold of the short stub axles that came in the 91 US model Leagacy (Liberty down under) VLSD rear diff, they are held in place with 'C' clips just like the axles on the Imprezas, but allow you to use your orginal rear axles. I think the SVX has these stub axles also, but I'm not sure.
