WJM
So I was thinking...a Justy has its engine sitting in it the wrong way. :-p I was thinking...make the justy RWD, turn the engine the 'correct' way and build it. strip it, Solo1 roll bar it...and call it done. Point Made. awww crap... now hes gone and done it...... just for the record... if you think Justys are junk you havent driven one..... Justys fricken ROCK!! TROGDOR!
Umm no, that would be pointless. It's a JUSTY. Point Made. Those cars weigh practically nothing. A stock EA82T in that thing would FLY. Plus it'd handle like a go kart.
JWX
how about an RX drivetrain, with awd and a proper susp. what do those have under them anyways? is it multi link in the back or what?
MorganM
This idea obviously hasn't been fully thought through; I can think of two major issues not addressed. Ultimately what is the point? There is a factory Justy rally sport package with push button 4WD. Why not just run that?
Guest shadow
RallyJusty I beleive has done almost exactly what you describe. You can do a search for his posts, he had some good information and pictures last I saw one of his more technical posts. His project went a bit further than just the drivetrain I think, basically ended up being a full tube framed car. He has his own website with his pictures on it. WJM
I wouldnt want to do that.....keep justy engine, go RWD, keep the stock unibody but add a Solo1 legal roll bar since I would likely Time Trial the thing at some point.

samo
Justys kick rump roast, I'd totally drive one! Anyhow, what you're talking about has been done a number of times in the VW community. A certain purple Corrado comes to mind, with a rear-engine VR6 turning the back axles. It, however, is still transverse mounted, since they just used the existing transmission/halfshalf setup to power the back instead of the front. Adam N.D.J.
Here ya go, check out these pics, they are Rallyjusty's, he has an EA82 powerplant and drivetrain, custom front suspension. He hasn't updated his page in a long time, and haven't seen him online for quite a while, so no idea where it's at now, but the older pics are quite impressive. http://home.comcast.net/~rallyjusty/
subyrally
i have a friend that is selling a justy here in central md, looks to be in good condition. last i checked, also has like a pioneer sound system in it. looks cool, but could use some aftermarket tuning:brow:
Steveman09
Hell if you all like the justy that much I got a guy at school that wants to sell his mint justy 4wd with rally lights, custom hood w/scoop and exhaust and ram air intake. Lemme kno if your interested, he wants a GL like mine.
SakoTGrimes
If everybody in the world drove small, rear wheel drive cars there would be no hate, no war, no predujice. Everyone would be happy and sing and dance together and... um sorry, I lost my thought there..... Oh yeah; low weight + RWD = performance. Ask ThreeEyedBandit about his formerly turbo'd Justy. Unfortuanetly, the turbo now lives on my kitchen counter.
JonOfScio
does the justy being an EJ type motor bolt up to any old EJ tranny? (ie: legacy 5 speed! 4.11 rear end... awd... ooooo) justy also has a 78mm bore and 83mm stroke... unusual for subaru huh? they like bigger bore and smaller stroke... ie: 92mm bore and 67mm stroke. WJM
NO. Justy is not EA or EJ.
TurboSPFI
Not a flat four, thumbs down in my opinion.. getting off-topic though.. As far as a RWD justy, i'd just stick with the push button 4wd setup and turbo it.
MorganM
As far as a RWD justy, i'd just stick with the push button 4wd setup and turbo it. my point exactly. get the factory rally sport model and trick it out.
kingbobdole
Unfortuanetly, the turbo now lives on my kitchen counter. I'm gonna get OT and claim that 34.67% of all old subaru parts now reside in Kitchens.
subyrally
I'm gonna get OT and claim that 34.67% of all old subaru parts now reside in Kitchens. dont forget bedrooms. hallways, and laundry rooms. and sometimes the bathroom. but thats just my place
SakoTGrimes
super important update: I cleaned the kitchen, the turbo now resides on the living room floor next to the tools... more to follow
ThreeEyedBandit
He is actually running a EJ motor mated to a EA-82 box, but go one step further and mate WRX motor and box to the justy and you have.... http://sites.rapidus.net/lheureum/justywrx/english.html Matt
