iluvdrt
I noticed the fusable link under the hood closest to the firewall is getting hot after I drive the car. It is the main fusable link that controls the power to everything. Im talking about the peice of wire in the little black box by the radiator coolant overflow bottle. It is the one closest to the firewall. Is this normal? I dont want a short that will catch my car on fire. Thanks-Jason.
MudisFun
The link is getting hot because either the demand of the circuit is to great, the link has a bad connection, or at one point the link was almost blown but not yet so the r-drop is high across the link. Keep in mind that things get hot when work is being done, it is not normal for energy to be used when traveling along a good wire. Try replacing the link and cleaning the connection spades. If the fuse does blow the fiber wrapping will smoke but will burst into flames like plastic insal. Let me know if replacing it works.
