SakoTGrimes
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-Isetta_W0QQitemZ4563452975QQcategoryZ6056QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It has an engine from a "1980 Subaru" I assumed it was an EA81. Who knew you could put a flat four in a car disigned for a 20 something horse single cylinder? It was probably pretty fast when it ran.
Hondasucks
isn't that the car Steve Urkel had in Family Matters? That's a bad arse car.. I thought the Isettas only had three wheels, but I guess I was wrong :-P

ShawnW
Looks like a ea71 based only on the valve cover color. Either way, what a rocket that little beast would be.

felipe01forester
Those things are cool. It doesn't look like a Beemer as we know it, and that's why it's such a novelty. However, since the door is actually the whole front of the car, that's an extreme safety hazard. If you have a head-on collision, you're SOL. The stock Isettas don't have much get-up, but if it has an EA, that'll provide some extra oomph.

elwood91
Back in the 70's my dad brought home an Isetta body and chassis which he proceeded to turn into an electric car. I got to drive the chassis in some parking lots before the body was installed. Not very fast but very quiet.
Dusza Beben
Isetta's were manufactured under license from BMW in several countries. For the record, Isettas were available in three and four wheel configurations depending on where they were manufactured. You would see a lot of three wheelers in places like the UK where the "road tax" was excessively high for four wheeled vehicles. Love the mid engine set-up on this one though! Here's a few more fun Isettas http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mysunrise/oliver.meier/bubblecar/en/custom3.html DB
