Mike Moore
My manual tells me I can ID motor by the numbers stamped into it but doesn't tell me the code to read the numbers it says I can tell the year and run. If anybody can tell me how to get the code or were to look. It is suppose to be like the VIN numbers on car. I know what size motor it is just trying to find out what year. Here are the numbers stamped on it 814394 Any help at all or anyother way to ID motor please let me know Mike Moore
Hondasucks
Look on the front of the block for two letters and two numbers enclosed in a square. will be something like EA81, EA82, EJ20, EJ22, etc.. It's usually, when standing in front of the car, on the left hand side of the block, kinda by where the block stops and the head begins. That number you posted sounds to me like the engine's serial number. (The one on my wagon is 8111111 or something like that...)
