xoomer
I got to thinking... I bought a used head from a board member. and its all reassembled but I can't get it to run...I was wondering if maybe the head was the wrong gen? I hear there is gen 1 2 & 3 turbo heads is there a different length of valve stem? or what? So maybe my Concusion helped me think or its just that headache... (took nasty fall in a River... on to a rock.. stupid current.) had I had a ru to cross the river this would have never happened. so any ideas? + my Daily Driver... is dying! need my XT asap.. -xoomer
Cougar
Have you checked the compression, spark, and fuel delivery?
xoomer
Have you checked the compression, spark, and fuel delivery? Have Spark... and fuel... compression on the other hand I don't know... don't have a compression testor What about the white connector and the black connector next to the airbox? Do those have something to do with it? :banghead::banghead::banghead: this car is starting to make tit. ?!??!?! whoops.. I meant it.. not worth working on my own cars anymore for alll of the headaches..
Cougar
You can fix this. I would suggest you get a compression tester or borrow one if you can. They aren't real expensive and are an important tool to have for engine repair work. You have two of the three things needed for internal combustion. You just need to know if the third one is there. If you do have compression then you may have a timing problem to look at. I'm not sure what wires you are talking about, that you mention in your last post. WoodsWagon
If this is the left hand head, mabe you got the camshaft timing 180 degrees off? That would stop it from starting.
xoomer
you know what I think I may have found the problem... i took the rocker cover off? and it threw a rocker arm.. so I pulled it apart and fixed it... put it back together and it threw another one...so.. I'm thinking the valves are not opening correctly due to a: Camshaft shot/loose... b: bad HLA's C: Bad valve springs... not bringing the valve up far enough.. anyway.. going to do a head swap tommorrow and give that a try... then if that doesn't work... anyone got a ea82t with an "easy Fix"? something that I can throw in there until I can afford a new motor?? -Xoomer not xooming? Subi81
Same thing happened to a "free" DL that I got. No compresson on the pass side. Rocker wouldn't stay on like it is supposed to. Turned out to be a slipped valve seat. Not saying this is your problem but it could be, look at the springs does anyone of them not pop back out as far as the others? Good luck

Good luck Would that keep me from running??? and is it possible that new valves would fix it or should I just switch heads? if your Idea is the winner,.... I will personaly hand you the Title To the Beast.... its a plymouth but would make a beautiful go cart? j/k Xoomer,... DUH That could be it... No Compression= No RUN gonna go check while posting this... its possible... some of the rockers are loose... as in movable with one finger just a little bit... when in place and cam against it... and on that note... there was a horable slaping sound comming from the cam/rockers... the rocker would slam down on the cam like the valve wasn't moving smoothly with the cam.... ::banghead::
