dandan
Hi guys, This is my first post. My fairly new 04 WRX Sport Wagon has been behaving a bit strange. The car runs slightly rough and has a tendency to sound a bit like a diesel- the motor just does not sound smooth. There is a very slight hesitation on acceleration( not talking about lag ). The exhaust is a bit smoky and fuel consumption has gone up a bit. One would think the car runs a bit on the rich side. There are no significant drivability problems and the car runs reasonably well overall. There are no codes and a trip to the dealer has solved absolutely nothing. Several posts talk about flashing the ECU. The car has only about 13K's on it. Has anyone had similar experiences? I'm tempted to just tell you to find a different mechanic. Smoke out the tail pipe is not good. bad for the catalytic converter and am indication of a problem. What color is the smoke? was ANYTHING different done to the car recently? Any fluids change level/color/smell recently? Guesses are just guesses but maybe a slipped timing belt? Stuck valve? Perhaps something as simple as a PCV valve clogged up? I dunno Carl
