Camelwagon
Ok so I just got an 85 GL wagon 4x4 and it has some electrical problems. When I turn the lights on and turn the blinker on, the lights and inside dash lights start blinking like the blinker. Whats up with that? Weak battery or alternator? Or some connections or leads have to be cleaned? I cleand the battery leads. It starts up fine every day... Thanks.
KStretch55
Sounds like your voltage regulator in the alternator is going south, I think.

SubbieDoo
I'm having the same problem with my 84 GL-10 all the lights on the dash and even my headlights kind of blink,( or dim and get brighter) now I'm wondering if this is the reason my digital dash and power windows stopped working..???? I'm not very good at electrical stuff, so.. anyone have any idea's on how much this would wind up costing to check out..?? Thanks... Cougar
To Camelwagon and SubbieDoo, To see if these problems are caused by a bad ground connection to the car body you can run a jumper lead to a good common ground point. Get a long piece of 10 or 12 gauge wire and connect one end to the negative battery post. Then touch the other end to suspected bad ground areas like the dash and see if things work better. If the problem clears then you need to clean up the ground connections. If the ground connections are ok then you may need to check the main power lead to the accessories and the fusible links for a connection problem.
