Quick Question! CV compatibility? ea82T-MT to 3AT?

I have an XT4 turbo, 5spd pushbutton... would CVs fit it from a SPFI ea82 with a 3AT? I know the turbos and ATs have different splines and stuff compared to the N/A 5MT d/r.... so which is which??

I need a CV and I have one but dont want to take it all apart to find that it wont work!

i recently did a cv joint ina 86 rx with a 5speed d/r and used one of my spare 87gl-10 3at turbo axles

the tranny side splines are diffrent

so i swapped ouptut cups

so far they seem to be holding up on that guys car..

its not the best idea but when you don't have enough money you do what you can

 

just make sure ya don't lose any balls....

and add some extra grease since it will lose some in the changeover

Autos(turbo and N/A) and N/A manuals use one spline count(23)

Turbo manuals use the other (25)

Nope.. no difference in spline count for autos between turbo ans N/A.. found that out the hard way when I went to use the axles out of my turbo auto on my turbo 5 spd.. surprise!! wrong spline count.!!

 

What is different about the turbo and N/A auto axles is the strengthening points in the shaft itself.. turbos have 3( I think) little weld bumps, whereas N/A only has one or two(not exactly sure for how many.. never done axles on an N/A soob)
