I dont know if they do this anymore but if you just call corporate Subaru customer service and give them the vin they can give you info on service records and mileage if the car was ever serviced at a dealership. They can also tell you how many titles have passed at times. Of course a carfax vin check is much more thorough and in detail.

Here ya go- I got a 30 day unlimited pass for carfax.com so I looked it up for you and put a copy of the file here:

Hope this helps,

Lauren

p.s. if anyone else wants vin lookup info, I'd be glad to do the same so long as I still have my 30 day membership, for about the next 3 weeks or so.

Lauren- If that offer is still open: 4S3BG68SXV6637361. The tag also says that it is model BGCY4F and the option code is U10W. Thanks!

When I copy/paste those numbers in it says:

" The VIN you entered: 4S3BG68SXV6637361 is invalid.

However the VIN you entered is very close to those listed below.

4S3BG685XV6637361 1997 SUBARU/LEGACY OUTBK/LIMITED/2.5L H4 PFI DOHC 16V

(Substituted: 5 in position 8)"

... and a copy of the carfax for that vin is here:

http://www.myotherstuff.net/carfax/05/

Lauren :)
