elviscan
The cd player portion of my am/fm-cassette-cd radio recently started spitting out every cd inserted into it. It shows "disc-in", and I can hear it spin probably 4-5 times without actually starting to play, and then ejects the disc. Even a cleaning disc gets spit out. I took the entire unit out of the dash, and a complete cleaning with compressed air has no effect (without a complete disassembly of the cd player). Has anyone had a similar problem, and is it an easy fix? Or, anyone know a good place to find just the cd portion replacement? Any help is appreciated, thanks. ShawnW
Marketplace is a good place to start for just the CD section if its the 2 din separate radio that has am/FM/Cass on top and CD on bottom, etc. Ebay has always been good for the 6 disc in dash takeout units from WRX's and such. These look and sound awesome!
elviscan
thanks, shawnw. i'm not familiar with marketplace but will go searching for it. one more question regarding 2 din. what does that mean? my setup has the cd on top, then the cassette, then the buttons for radio stations and forward/reverse/etc for the cd and cassette on the bottom. its from a legacy outback limited. thanks Marketplace is a good place to start for just the CD section if its the 2 din separate radio that has am/FM/Cass on top and CD on bottom, etc. Ebay has always been good for the 6 disc in dash takeout units from WRX's and such. Commuter
Unless you can pick up just the CD player for cheap, the 6 Disc changer is the way to go. I put one in my 97 OB. Plugs right in. Works great. (Note, I'm not sure if the newer ones still plug right in. Others could tell you.) Commuter

Then select it from the list. DIN is a standard for the size of the component. 2 DIN means double the height.
