brama
I have 91 Legacy. It will not release from park when I put my foot on the brake. I release it by the manual button. I have check the solenoid, I have no power to it when the brake pedel is pushed down. Yes the brake lights do work. I am assuming that there is a relay, but I can not find it. If someone could tell me where and what it looks like. If I take the soleniod out will this do anything to the running of the car, meaning the computor. Thank You. Midwst
What you probably need is a shift interlock box. It is a black box about the size of a cigarette box...I think it is located under the dash...not quite sure. Costs a few bucks at the junk yard. Legacy777
If it is that box, I do have one. I yanked it when I did my 5spd conversion. You can have it for the cost of shipping. Here's a pic of the box, and some factory scans which might help in diagnosing the problem http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap/electrical.html#shiftlock
