Harvester
Ok I just won a Weber 32/36 DGAV carb off a BMW 2002 from eBay. I know what the recommended settings for putting the carb on a Subaru are. Does anyone know what the stock jettings were for the BMW 2002's? It might save me from having to buy new jets if they are close. Also, the auction listing says that There is a piece of linkage missing that operates the secondary throttle butterfly (see pic). I was under the impression that to put it on a subaru you use the linkage from the old Hitachi carb. If this is the case then I wouldn't have to worry about the piece of missing linkage, correct? If I am wrong does anyone have a spare of the missing piece or know what it is called? Otherwise I will have to order it. Does anyone know of any place that sells the Weber adapters for EA81's that costs less than the $46.88 that Carbs Unlimited Charges? http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/webernumber.asp?Kit_Nbr=99004.110 Anyway, for all interested here is the auction I won. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7993693749 Thanks, Harv
edrach
Sorry, but the linkage from the hitachi only opens the primary throttle; the connecting link (which you'll need) opens the secondary as the primary goes past the half way point. Sorry, no help on the jets but it won't be too bad since the 2002 is a 2L engine and is pretty close. Check the jet sizes for Subaru (find it in the info in the USRM I think) and compare to what you're getting. Ok I just won a Weber 32/36 DGAV carb off a BMW 2002 from eBay. edrach
Bow Wow in Lynnwood, WA sells the EA81 adapter for $30 plus tax. Ask for Chris and tell him you got the number on the USMB. 425-771-6411 or toll free 888-226-9969. Shipping shouldn't cost too much since they are light. He also sells a linkage adapter (better than the hitachi one) for under $10 (worth every penny).
