1Quickgn
I just purchased a totaled 91 Legacy AWD with a new engine and 5 speed tranny. I plan on putting the drivetrain from this vehcle into my other 91 Legacy AWD that has a bad auto trans and tired engine. Besides the obvious swap of the clutch and brake pedals, what else do I need to remove from the 5 speed car? Also, can I tow the totaled legacy on a tow dolly if I disconnect the drive shaft from the rear end? Knowledgeable help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
cookie
do a search on that nad check his website. If it were mine I would keep the whole parts car until you are done. I have had to search for small items on swaps and go back to junkyards so many times.... You will need the entire pedal assembly, maybe the computer, perhaps part of the wiring harness, I bet the gear ratio is different and you will need the rear end and driveshafts. Do yourself a favor and keep the whole car till you are done.
Legacy777
I'd also recommend keeping the car. There are some small incidental stuff that you will need. You can keep your ECU, there are some other issues. Check out my AWD & 5MT swap write up. A lot of the issues can be found on there www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap

Legacy777
It should work. It's a public server, not private, so the IP address, and everything else should be fine. Try it again, and if you still can't get to it, let me know.
sid_vicious
hey 777 I can not seen to get your link to work for the mt to auto swap to work I tried to go there directly but still no luck Thanks There are at least a couple people on nasioc.com that have swapped between automatic and manuals. Maybe check out their posts. It seems to be an endeavor that can quickly accumulate time and money. Looks like fun nonetheless. Andrew
