Snowman Posted September 23, 2003 Share Posted September 23, 2003 I am kind of baffled. When my car is just cruising along, the voltmeter will sometimes fluctuate by a few volts. At idle, the voltage will fluctuate more, occasionally going down below 12 volts. Regardless of engine speed, the turn signal or brake lights will cause a voltage fluctuation and a slight dimming of the headlights. Voltage regulator bad? Alternator? Something else? At least its not going up in voltage and not stopping because that can start to fry major electrical parts. I know if your alternator goes bad and you have a digital dash, it can sometimes take a toll on the dash which we all know, is not a very cheap part:banghead: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
