stephenw22
The Hornet's EGR light is on and I'd like to shut it off for good, since I've disconnected my EGR system completely. I searched through the board and it seems like there's a connector somewhere under the dash to do this. I looked last night, and I don't want to just start pulling random stuff until something works. What does the connector look like? How many wires on each side? I'm just tempted to drill a small hole through the plastic lens and smash the bulb, but I don't want to accidentally short-circuit the wires. thealleyboy
I've seen the EGR reset switch, but can't remember exactly where it located. Seems like it was behind an access panel to a screw, or something... On my current project (a carbed 87), I've completely eliminated the EGR, and am getting no warning lights whatsoever. It might just be a matter of disconnecting the battery, and "rebooting" the ECU. I'm thinking that if ithe EGR cannot be detected, there will be no error condition. Let us know what you come up with. good luck, John
stephenw22
There is no ecu. The battery was disconnected for a month while I had the engine out, and nothing was reset. I guess I'll have to keep looking.
TomRhere
I'd like to know where that reset switch is myself. The EGR light is "on" in the '86 BRAT, no ECU to be found, so it must just be a service reminder thing. Annoying to say the least....... Good thing about it though, Wife won't drive it if it has any "warning" lights on.
