1983 Subarus

Hello everyone!

I used to own a 1983 non-touring wagon Sooob. This may sound like a stupid question (it is) but what is the difference between an 1800 and a DL? I think they're the same thing but please correct me if i'm wrong. I am thinking of purchasing another one.

Ive got a late 83 ea81 series wagon; they are 1.8 litre. I'm pretty sure that it is called a DL wagon.

Thanks Steve. I was a bit confused when I looked at a website and they listed the 1800 and the DL as seperate cars!

1800 is the engine size regardless of model....1.8 liter. DL is the model designation and is the more "economy" version of the car. GL is the "fancy" version with nicer interior and more accessories. My son's DL Brat has no t-tops, no tach, less guages; my Brat is a GL with all those "extras." Both the DL and the GL had the same EA81 engine for 1983.

The '83 DL hatch I just picked up is an EA71, 1600cc.
