75subie
do they click when turning, or all the time?if they only click when turning, you should be fine for a while.if one breaks, you can use RWD to get home.
TheSubaruJunkie
A bad CV will cause vibration in the steering wheel. It might feel like one of the wheels is out of ballance. Check the boots on the CV. Once they fail, the actual joint isnt far behind. -Brian
Numbchux
yea, it'll click or vibrate...but here's my rule: if it's broken, fix it, if it's not, wheel it 'til it is!!
ogiesdad
I had an 84 wagon with a torn boot on the driver's side--I'd work fresh grease into the CV with my fingers once a week and it kept going--amazing how a car on its last legs refused to die. nipper
yea, it'll click or vibrate...but here's my rule: if it's broken, fix it, if it's not, wheel it 'til it is!! i used to use that rule on my 88, untill that rule got me stranded, also took a wheel bearing and a hub with it (twice). The other thing is that if it picks the rong place and wrong to snap, it can seize up. The first time it happened, i just put it in 4wd, and drove to the shop (nothing like living 50 miles from work and have the car go poof at work), second time that didnt work out. nipper
