biffanyus
I tried the seafoam stuff...no luck. My mechanic thinks its just sludge in the gas tank. Im getting the new gas tank put in hopefully this weekend. Thats my only option. I hope that it solves my problem:brow:
biffanyus
That was for my earlier post about my 82 brat hesitating. Now about the MFer part. I notice my 80 brat had a bit of oil getting on the front of the engine. A small oil leak somewhere right? Well I put this oil leak engine sealer from goldeagle products. Holy S%#@T!!!!!!!!! What a mistake. It was runnng smoothly, but now it runs like rump roast. Its smoking out the tailpipe. Its running very rough and it lost alot of power. It was only in a half a day after putting this crap in when it started this crap. So the next day I change the oil and plugs but no difference. It still runs like rump roast. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! How can I get it back to the way it was... Im so pissed I put that s*#t in! :madder: What can I do? Anyone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Martin
before you changed the oil, you might of wanted to try a product that you can add that has some extra detergents to clean it a bit more from the inside. maybe load up on some premium gas with extra cleaning agents and just go drive around on a bit of a trip where you keep the revs around 4000 and above for a while. try to burn everything out of there. i know after some road trips or lots of high revving, these engines seem to run better because all the carbon and other crap gets burnt off. ShawnW
I would try putting 3 qts of 5w30 and 1qt of Marvel Mystery Oil in, or following the instructions on a can of seafoam for the same type of thing. Something really thin.....then take it out and really drive it in upper RPM ranges on the freeway....like leave it in 3rd at 55, etc. Next time degrease the engine, find the source of the leak and replace the seal....but u knew that. Syrinx
I third the Marvel Mystery Oil. The stuff works wonders on the oil side. Kurt
DoughtCom
It took me a while to figure out a what you guys meant by MMO a long time ago, where do you get Marvel Mystery Oil? <- Don't mean to hijack the thread.
ShawnW
Walmart and most stores have MMO. Napa and OReilly auto parts sell Seafoam....it comes in a spray and a liquid can in this case you need the liquid but try the spray its a great product kindof like PB Blaster.
