phos
I need to replace the front rotors on my 2002 Impreza Outback sport. It has 16" wheels but all the auto parts stores I call only list rotors for 14 @ 15". Anyone know why ?
tcspeer
Were the sixteen in. wheels stock? If you just want to get the right rotor I would take the one you have to the auto store when you go.
Smpol19
Yup, take the old ones in. I had issues with rotors for my 01 Impreza OBS, its got 15" wheels they had to order those rotors and when I got them home and tried to put them on they were too big, ended up the ones listed for 14" wheels were correct. and yes i do know these are the original stock wheels. Setright
Does your brake caliper have two or one pistons? The single uses a 260mm disc, the two-pot uses the 277mm. Both are sliding calipers.
Setright
Here's a shot of the two pot: http://www.weblumen.com/subaru/images/caliper-hi.jpg Take note of the shape you can see behind your wheel. Does it have that set of arches? Or just a single arch, like this one-pot: http://cybrina.mine.nu/images/Subaru/WheelBearings/brake_remove1.jpg
Setright
Perhaps this is a better shot of the 277mm disc calipers: http://www.moojohn.com/subaru/caliper1.jpg
