Subaru_dude
check the oil level. if it's not low, and you're not hearing any knocking coming from your engine, then it's not a big deal.
Qman
The sender could be going bad. 6,000 kms is a bit much but not too much. Is the engine making noise? BTW, your first post was before 6am EST. Most people don't get on that early.
bella
Oil level is ok. About noise.....is nothing unusual heard from the engine...what kind of noise should be??? Thanks allot guys......I'am waiting any other advices.
Racerfab
Oil pressure goes down if the idle speed is too low. Sometimes this happens during warm up. Just watch it the next few times you warm it up. If you want to, put an oil pressure guage on it. Cheap enough...Good luck!
bella
Engine was around 1500 rpm when oil light goes on....thank you anyway guys and wait other suggestions or things to be inspected.. You are a really help here...with this message board:rolleyes:
TomRhere
Would have you check the wire going to the sender on the oil pump, looking for bare or frayed wire. If the wire has a bare spot in it, it would ground the circuit turning on the light, especially if it's being real irratic The oil gauges on these are known for being iffy at low pressure, not to sure about ones with the oil light. john in KY
Use a guage to learn the true oil pressure.
NorthWet
Oil level is ok. About noise.....is nothing unusual heard from the engine...what kind of noise should be??? Thanks allot guys......I'am waiting any other advices. The noise that you would probably hear first would be from the Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjusters, and although there would be no damage it would certainly sound like the engine was being damaged. The sound would be loud and similar to rod bearing noise, and should have been very audible at 1500rpm. If you were not frightened by the noise when the oil light was on, then I would agree with Qman and others that the light tuned on due to sender or wiring problems. BoostedBalls
Hook a gauge up to it right at the sender just to make sure you haven't lost the ball and spring thing in the oil pump. If all is well, you can go back to the idiot light with no worries.
