205/60/13?

Recommended Posts

i feel like biting the bullet and trying to run 205/60/13 on my 5.5" enkeis but should i? should i just forget it and go with 195's? or can it work and not rub or hit stuff? would be nice to have 205 and i can live with a little speedo off, dont drive fast really anywayz but im tryin to gain grip.im thinkin it might lose more grip though since i only really see the sumitomo HTR 200 205's that are designed for 6" rims. big difference putting it on a 5.5"? im really interested in what can work best for a good tire. im mtired of my 175/70/13 snow tires

Yes.

Everyday.

Been thru 20 sets now.

On the 5" wide stock rims...steel or alloy, doesnt matter.

I have 215/50/13's on a 5" set.

I have seen 225/45/13 Hooiser's on 5" rims...those are 'supposed' to only go on a 8" or 9" wide rim.

195's are for kitty cats.

maybe you should get some 155s:P nice little pizza cutter wheels, lol. Going a little bigger tire on a rim is a lot better then going a little smaller tire. I had a set of Calmaster rims that had some slightly smaller hakkepillita snow tires on it and they wouldn't set bead and when they did, oh man, the weight of the car blew them off.

haha cool then, i was just wondering cuz i really wanted to fit some nice 205s. hmm do you think the sumitomo htr200s are the best for price or is there anything else out there? its gonna turn into winter soon but being in Sacramento where it doesnt snow and lately it really isnt raining that hard either, i really only need a tire will both wet/dry traction and no real need for snow. inputs?

155/80R13's are all I buy these days. Pizza cutters ROCK. (At least in my climate/road conditions, they are the best.)

On mud in the spring and fall, they dig through the first few inches of mush to get to the hard clay underneath.

In winter, they cut through the fluff and slush to get to the hard pack.

My soobs that have 155/80s handle way better than ones with wide floaty tires.

I talked to Big O Tires (one right next to my work). They said I could get the tires shipped from TireRack.com straight to BigO and then bring my car in and they would mount/ballance them. $39 a tire *4= $120 (roughly) + tax and shipping = $160ish... then BigO wants $20 a tire for mount and ballance ($160+$80=$240) then add even more tax and california tire disposal fee's and environmental b.s. and it should work out to be just under $300 for a set of brand new Sumitomo's from TireRack.com to my car.

Too bad Payday is Friday, BigO is closed Sunday and I need new tires by monday morning for a road trip :banghead:
