kvaleras
Hi, all! I recently purchased a basic scantool for OBD II from Harbor Freight (CEL was on for some time). When I tried to read the codes, here's what I got: 1) It displays ''LAUNCH'' (as it says in the manual). 2) Then it shows three dashes, then pauses, then shows the fourth dash and then it gives ''E''. I know there a trouble codes in my ECU (I flushed them couple of times - thanks to all your advice, users). Anyone who uses or used the mentioned scantool, I need your help! Does ''E'' mean empty, no codes? I do everything that is said on the manual, but maybe I'm missing something? Is there a chan ce the scantool is not suitable for my car? Thanks! Hocrest
Not all 95's are ODB2. That was the year they started using it, some had it, some didn't. I'm not sure but I think even the ones without it had the connector??? Maybe take it to Autozone or one of the other places that reads ODB2 codes for free and see what they come up with? kvaleras
Well, the thing is that my subie is OBDII equipped. That's why I bought the scanner in the first place.
avk
I'd second the Autozone suggestion, to remove any uncertainty about the scanner. Their scanner (Actron brand) does work with my '95.
daddyof3
I recently contacted Autozone about pulling codes for my '96 outback and they said they no longer do that.
