Numbchux
So my morning started out something like this: And then I added this: And later in the afternoon: among other things....Yes, now I've got a 3.9 LSD rearend, with an SJR 2" diff shim to ease axle angles. I had much more fun than that, including a very soft, muddy trail that I was VERY glad I had the LSD for. but I was alone, so I didn't get any shots of it... and just another sweet shot from the day:

Numbchux
Are there certin cars that have the LSD standard or do you have to go around and check each diffy plate??? They don't come on N/A EA82s....and they all have 3.7 final ratio (not entirely true, a few xt6's have 3.9 LSD...but good luck!). if you don't feel like looking for the tag, you could just turn one rear wheel, if the other spins the same way, you've got an LSD. WAWalker
Your not really going to tow anything with that bumper, right? Please say no! Looks like you've already ripped one D-ring off.

Ask AA what that 'receiver' is rated too; he's the one who built it.
WAWalker
Ask AA what that 'receiver' is rated too; he's the one who built it. Well, I've seen an AA front bumper in the flesh, and my money is on the D-rings and mounting brackets tearing out is a big hurry. I guess a good yank or two with the rig buried in mud or snow will tell.................I just wouldn't want to be standing anywere close when the testing begins. Nore would I want to be on the road behine this bumper with any kind of trailer hooked to it. Just MWO, looks dangerous.
WoodsWagon
The reciever has to be centered between the two frame rails. If it is offset, like that one is, the leverage it gets will help rip the bumper off the body. Believe me, we had a front bumper rigged up like that, except it was welded on, on a toyota. W/ the 12K pull winch, it didn't even slow down as the frame tore off in front. If it had been centered, it would have been fine, but it wasn't and that concentrated the force. Numbchux
that puddle pic rocks....if my mouse had a working right click it would be my new wallpaper it is mine...if you'd like I can e-mail you the full resolution version... as for the bumper...I had only one D-ring mounted so I can add a swing gate spare tire mount later this winter. and the receiver, well, it's not as strong as I'd like, but it's plenty strong to pull anything that this poor thing can pull. I wouldn't dare put more than a few hundred pounds tongue weight on it, but I wouldn't want to put much more then 5, maybe 800 lbs total behind the car...and that D-ring aint going nowhere!!! I don't know how on earth you think you can tell how strong it is...but I'm telling you right now, it's strong.
WAWalker
I don't know how on earth you think you can tell how strong it is...but I'm telling you right now, it's strong. As I said, I have seen a front AA bumper in the flesh. The mounting points have a very small surface area with no bracing or gussets to distriubute the load, that reciever is welded to a very small surfce area whith no bracing or gussets to distribute load........... And if I'm not mistaken that D-ring is butt welded to the tube, and has no solid conection to the frame of the vehical. What have you got there, 3 Sq Inches, if that, for load distriubution at any given attachment point. That better be one HEAVY wall peice of tubing. Hey, it looks cool, but dangerous. A few well placed gussets would make a huge difference.

Shadyirishmen
Yea all admit that bumper is not the strongest. We are working on the next series that will all be tube bumpers. We finally have a connection with a high dollar tube bender so we should be making some real nice bumpers shortly. chucks will have to get the upgrade!!!
