The past few months my 97 legacy outback has started hesitating while I'm driving on the highway after about 30 min. I have to give it full gas to keep going or it will stall out; when I pull off the highway the car stalls out easily...have to roll thru stop signs. I've had the computer thing done @ auto zone + o2 sensors/tune up done...still happens. The car cures itself each time after a few days and runs like a reg subaru. It only seems to happen when it's raining. Any suggestions before I have the car repaired piece by piece?

Wait until it gets dark and then go out and start your car and move to the darkest place on your property. Turn off your headlights and open the hood. Rev the engine and look for little arcs. If you don't see anything get a squirt bottle of water of a hose and gently spray water around the ignition compenents until you see an arc or it starts to sputter when you rev it. Most likely is bad plug wires agrivated by the moisture of rain. Could also be grounds, but I've seen several cars that had your symptom with bad wires.
